Making things
Making a video ad
A Video ad is a short story told in several scenes, with a picture and a clip for each, a voice-over and music, and your logo on the end card. Choose Create in the sidebar, then Video ad, or Make a video ad in a strategy’s menu. To animate one image you already made instead, see Turning an image into a video.
The brief
Pick the Product, the Persona (who the video is for) and, if you want one, a strategy to lean on. Then set:
- What kind of video: a kind as a card, or Let us pick (the default).
- Length: 10 to 120 seconds, in steps of 5. The last seconds are your end card, built from your real logo and product photo, so nothing on it is drawn by AI.
- Format: 9:16, 4:5, 1:1 or 16:9. Every picture and clip is made in this shape, so it can’t be changed later.
- Anything to keep in mind, in your own words.
Write storyboard is free and takes about a minute. You can leave the page while it writes.
Scenes
The story opens on the Scenes tab: the story in one card, the sound, then every scene with its picture and clip in place. The bar at the bottom always offers the one next step, with its price. Nothing is charged without asking first. Prices per quality are in What does it cost?.
- Sound: switch the Music and the Voiceover on or off, and pick the voice. Decide the voiceover before the clips: it sets what each scene says, and it stays as it is once clips exist.
- The face: if a person is in the story, make their face first. It is one portrait, so they look the same in every scene.
- Pictures, then clips for every scene. Pick the quality beside the button. Clips take a few minutes; you can leave the page.
- Make the sound: the voice and the music in one step, made at the same time. When they are ready, the ad assembles itself.
To change the story or a scene, use Change the story or a scene’s change button: the agent rewrites it and shows the change on the scene before you apply it.
Video
The Video tab plays your assembled ad. Export MP4 is free and makes the file in your browser; then Download MP4. If you change something afterwards (a new take, other music, a change in the editor), the bar says so and offers the export again. Earlier exports and versions of your edit stay under Renders and History.
Open in editor is optional: the timeline for adjusting by hand. There, Ask for changes takes a change in your own words (“crossfade between all scenes”, “bigger yellow captions”), and every answer is one step you can undo.
